Canterbury Cove - a BaCC: Week Two - Meadows

Hopefully no one gets upset by the frequency of my updates thus far. I have just been having so much fun with this neighborhood that I've been playing it in any spare time that I have. Anyway, so what you see before you is the second household that I have introduced into my neighborhood with one sim by the name of Rachel Meadows.

As you can see, Rachel is a knowledge sim with 2/5/5/8/5. A personality chosen for her just so that her pre-destined hobby would be nature... =D

After making the mistake of having the Carnahan's start their little garden in the second week, I had Rachel start hers right away so that not only would she never need to buy a replacement fridge or call for grocery delivery (when it gets unlocked), but she can also sell off her produce in a little shop so that no one else will have to do either of the aforementioned things either.

When the welcome wagon came there was, unfortunately, no one with which she could find true love with. Russell is happily married (and has four kids already), that man is too old, and the other person was a woman which does not make for successful population growth baby making.

However, a bit later this man, Edward Lieman, a townie that I created, walked by.

And what do you know it but these two have three bolts for each other! I think I made him a knowledge sim and her turn ons are glasses and red hair so they would be a perfect match. Plus, they would make cute kids, I am sure. And no, I did not make him for her, it just happened.

Although I did not share with you the first time that this happened with Russell and some random chick, it seems that when my sims say goodbye to each other and they happen to have a few bolts, they kiss, even if they don't even have a crush on each other. It's weird and slightly irritating.

The next day Rachel spent most of her daylight hours outside fishing in the pond that I placed on her lot. I would also like for her to be able to sell some fish at her shop.

Then she went inside to chat with Edward for a bit. And then... something amazing happened...

Fire number one! Luckily she was able to put it out before it spread anywhere. Therefore, this was a very happy moment for me. Only two more and a position in Law Enforcement will open up.

While gardening the next day, Rachel earned her bronze badge in gardening so I decided to reward her by...

inviting Edward over. (Please note that at this time they still do not have even a crush on each other yet!) But her kissing of him and their three bolts convinced me that they were meant to be. Plus, I love me some recessive genes.

After a bit of flirting they threw some little pink hearts so Rachel asked him on a date.

The date went well. (And no, although they are in the bedroom they did not actually woohoo. ACR really wanted them to woohoo, but I didn't let them. I gave myself the rule that there will be no woohooing without a try for baby involved and I don't want her pregnant before they are married.)

Rachel spent the next day fishing, earning her bronze badge in fishing, and fixing that stupid sink.

Then she invited Edward over to hang out again.

It only took a little bit for them to fall in love so...

Rachel asked him to marry her. He then moved in so that when they were married, Rachel would take his last name. (I like my female sims to take the male's last name just because that's how it usually is in real life.)

The wedding was small and just consisted of the two of them pledging their love to each other on the front sidewalk.

Then they tried for a baby, but no lullabies were heard.

Here is a better look at Edward in case anyone is curious. He is a knowledge sim with a personality of 3/3/6/5/8.

With the extra money that Edward brought in Rachel bought this community lot named Fresh Fish and Veggies where she sells fresh fish and veggies... It's quite small to start, but it will have to do for now.

After hanging out at the business for awhile, Rachel earned her bronze sales badge and that lady that you see over there...

She was a reporter and she gave the business a good review, despite it's lack of a building.

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I also really appreciate your comment about my sims. I have been trying to make more unique looking sims lately.

Hey, you combined a fish monger with a fruit and veggie stall! :P
In my BACC I have them separated, although the fish monger isn't doing as well as I'd hoped. I just need to get more sims fishin'!
Plus... it uhh, got a bad review... :\ But yay you got a good review! :P

Well since she doesn't have a job, Rachel spends a lot of time doing nothing but occasionally tending her garden and skilling so I figured it would give her something productive to do. Though, as of yet she has only caught three fish so she's going to have to step it up a bit if she plans on being successful. I don't even know how I managed to get a good review. Luck, I guess.

Very Nice! Maybe I should restart my BACC hood and put it up like you did , this is very nice! BTW you have amazing graphics! What kind of graphics card do you have (looking into getting a new one for my laptop)

Thank you!
When I had my previous neighborhood I had always really wished that I had documented it and I am really glad that I actually did it this time.
Thank you for the compliment on my graphics. It's nice to finally have good graphics. You must keep in mind that I DO sharpen my pictures a bit, but not a lot. And I wish I could tell you what my graphics card is but my dad does all the computer-y stuff in my house so I have no clue. x]

Rachel's store reminds me of my Brittany's Homegrown, that I'm playing at the moment (when I'm not at work reading other people's stories :D)

I never have my sims own a fishing shop, mainly because they catch so few fish that it's not worth it -- interesting idea to combine it with a produce stall. Edward looks like a good sim; I hope his LTW is something easy (although with FreeTime it doesn't matter too much, does it?).

Re. business reviews, I think you need one or two stars to gain a positive review, and three or more to get a best of the best award. Unless I'm running a club, I find my reviewers always do the "I'm looking for something" animation, and helping them always gets one star. Your community lot can be a buildingless stall in the middle of nowhere and you can still get a best of the best review if you pay close attention to the reviewer.

I don't even remember his LTW. All I know is that it was something that could not be attained, so he'll have to find other ways to stay platinum.

I know the actual business really has nothing to do with how it gets reviewed. I just found the situation comical. [=

I love Rachel and Edward together they're adorable! I like the fresh market business you opened up too that's a pretty good idea.
